La Paz Bolivia Elevation

La Paz Boliva elevation is one of the highest in the world. Most of La Paz is almost 12,000 feet above sea level. The metropolis is known for its culture and its special topography.

Bolivia was named after Simon Bolivar. The contribution of the freedom fighter helps to define the nature of the country and its people. The premier attractions in the country for travelers are its waterfalls, snow-capped mountains and plateaus.

The city itself is surrounded by high mountains. These mountains are known as the altiplano, in Spanish. This means high plain in English. The only other geographical area that compares to it is in Tibet. Parts of it are in other Spanish-speaking countries like Argentina and Peru.

Some parts of the city of La Paz extend up the mountains. This means that visitors to some sections of the city will be more than 13,000 feet above sea level. Some points are as high as 13,450 feet above the sea.

Wealthier people live in the lower areas of the city, nearer to the center. Brick houses are found on the mountains. These are built to follow the shape of the land. The Bolivian city of La Paz is beautifully designed. The skyscrapers in the metropolis and the snow-capped mountains which tower over them are absolutely beautiful. Although the days tend to be fairly hot, the temperature in the city drops rapidly at nighttime.

Many people who visit La Paz enjoy the nightlife there. At the end of a work day, residents release the stress of the day in many ways. People of all ages enjoy visiting clubs and relaxing with their friends, in the many bars that can be found all over the city. Live music is played at several eateries during the night. Sometimes, you will be able to hear traditional Andean music being played.
